![]() For years I have taken photographs, pretty much like everyone else, as a way of preserving life experiences and sharing them with friends and family. But, taking pictures, capturing images has something more to it than creating the likeness of a person, place, or thing on shiny photographic paper. Using the right lens, with the right light at the right moment, when you can pull it off, is exhilarating. In some ways, getting it right enhances the likeness. It re- creates and sometimes amplifies the original emotion. It creates a new mood. Images, at their peek, not only remind us of a past event, person, or place, they also allow a person without that memory to experience much of the same original experience. That is if the photographer does it well. Photography has made me more aware of how complex experiences are communicated in form and color and light. The effort to get it right, to capture the emotional moment is tremendously satisfying whether the subject is a portrait, a landscape, or people interacting. Perhaps, that’s why I’ve done it consistently for many years. Whether it’s a person, a place, or an object I want my photographs to reveal the feeling of the moment. I want as much as possible to share the experience of the mood with the viewer. My photos are reproduced from 35mm print and slide film, and from 35mm digital cameras. All of my photos are available for purchase in a variety of sizes, matted and framed, matted only, or image only. | |
