Nicholas Jospe
I
was born in NYC, but grew up in Europe and thus still consider myself
part Belgian, part French, and by now part Rochesterian with 38 years in
this community. I am a retired pediatric endocrinologist, with a career
at the University of Rochester. It is perhaps serendipity that my
profession is rich in imagery from the past, and also requires careful
observation and patience, all of which are well suited to the art of
photography!
What do I like now? I am an avid road biker, riding locally with one eye
open to the road, and the other looking to make photos. But I also love
to travel, which prompts much of my love of landscape photography. Thus,
things and places are my favorite things to photograph and show. One
day, I hope to have the courage to progress to portraiture.
Having
shown a few photographs over the years at Image City, I have had much
useful feedback from the Partners of the Gallery, and others. I am
flattered to be asked to join the group of Partners, and know I will
continue to learn from them. If I have to have an artist statement, it
would refer to using photography for combining the beauty of our world,
and evoking an emotion in the observer, of leaving him with the feeling
of “oh wow, that is a such a… (insert some BIG word) image".
